We offer a variety of live and recorded/eLearning ABPI Code of Practice training courses to make the Code come alive. All our courses are interactive to help you understand the practical implementation of the Code.

ABPI Code of Practice training for creators and reviewers

Our 2-day ABPI Code of Practice training course is here to support material creators, reviewers, appropriately qualified persons (AQPs) and aspiring final signatories wanting advanced training on the Code.

You can take the course in two ways:

  • Join our live online course on zoom.
  • Take our self-directed interactive eLearning course (currently being updated).

This group course runs as a full day followed by two half-day sessions.  Please attend all the sessions.  They are not recorded. Times are UK times.

Both options cost £1,795 + VAT.


Course agenda

We’ll make the Code come alive with lots of real case examples so that you understand the practical implications of the Code.  You’ll initially join our 1-day intermediate course which covers:

  • Background to the ABPI Code (recorded videos)
  • Principles of the Code
  • Promotion v non-promotion
  • Information, claims and comparisons
  • Digital – websites and social media
  • Meetings and events

The extra two half-day sessions will then build on the topics and will include:

  • Activities and materials before marketing authorisation
  • Running successful and compliant advisory board meetings
  • Code tips for press releases
  • Information for patients and the public such as disease awareness
  • Working with patient organisations
  • Top tips and watch out points for reviewers and creators

Who is the course for?

This is an advanced level ABPI training course and is ideal for material creators, reviewers, AQPs, aspiring final signatories wanting advanced training on the Code.  A wide range of people have attended this session.

  • Medical reviewers from Regulatory, Legal, Medical Affairs and Medical Information.
  • Material creators from Marketing and Brand teams and agencies.
  • Aspiring medical or commercial signatories.
  • Appropriately qualified people (AQPs) who need a broad understanding of the Code.
  • Anyone taking on a Code champion role in their organisation or needing solid knowledge.

This course does assume basic knowledge of the Code and builds quickly.  If you are completely new to the Code, please consider some basic training before you take this course such as our introduction course.
